Getting Started: Firearms Training FAQs
Training Options, Pricing, and Preparation
Requirements vary by service. If you are using your own firearm, bring it unloaded and secured in a case, along with the correct ammunition. Bring eye and ear protection if you have it, and wear closed-toe shoes with comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. We’ll provide specific instructions before your session.
Not at all. Summit Defense welcomes complete beginners as well as experienced shooters. Training is adjusted to your comfort level, goals, and pace, without pressure.
We offer private firearms training, small-group instruction, in-person Texas License to Carry classes, an online Texas LTC option, LTC shooting qualifications, and youth firearm-safety education.
Training is led by Drew Speegle. Drew focuses on safe, practical, repeatable skills and provides clear, personalized instruction for every experience level.

Private training is $75 per hour. Most private sessions last between two and four hours, depending on your experience and training goals. Pricing for other services is listed on their individual service and booking pages.
No. If you do not have a suitable firearm or ammunition, ask us about the Firearm & Ammunition Package before scheduling. Availability must be confirmed in advance.
Training is offered in the Wichita Falls area. The exact meeting or range location will be included with your scheduling details.
Yes. Small-group training is available for two to five participants. It is a great option for couples, families, coworkers, or friends who want to learn together.
Yes. All Summit Defense services are available to women. Private training is especially helpful for anyone who prefers a comfortable, personalized learning environment.
LTC, Booking, and Policies
Yes. Summit Defense offers youth firearm-safety education. Please contact us before booking so we can recommend the appropriate session and explain any parent or guardian requirements.
The online course allows eligible students to complete the classroom portion online. The required shooting qualification and any remaining state requirements must be completed separately. Review each course page for exactly what is included.
Yes. We offer stand-alone LTC shooting qualifications for students who completed the classroom portion online or through another approved provider.
No instructor can guarantee a passing result. We provide clear instruction and preparation, but students must meet all applicable course and qualification requirements.
That is completely normal. Private training is ideal for people who want a quieter and more personalized environment. Drew explains each step clearly and allows you to learn at a manageable pace.
